WALA: What makes me special? What helps me live?

In Te Mahuri we have been learning about animals. We have been thinking about the different types of animals, their different names, the difference between animals on the land and in the water.
As part of our tuning in we did a true of false quiz. The quiz helps us to see what we know and what we need to learn.

We then took some of these questions and thought about them in more detail.
Here are some of Room 3's thoughts.

A Human is an Animal
-A human has 2 legs and an animal has 4.
-False because animals have fur and we have skin.
-False because people don’t have antenna.
-False because humans don’t have tails.
-False because we can’t move under water that well.
-Creatures have little legs and humans have big legs.

A fish lives in the sea. Therefore, it is not an animal.
-False because fish are animals but they just live under the water.
-True because it has gills.
-False because the fish don’t have feet they have finns.
-False because a fish is a mammal.
-False because other animals cannot swim in the water.

Most animals are found on farms or in zoos.
-False because some animals live in jungles and underwater.
-True because a zebra is an animal and it lives in the zoo
-False because some animals can live with you at home
-False because some animals live in other countries.

-False because some animals live in the water.

We will be continuing to learn about these questions and will be able to answer them soon.
